Formed from the ashes of a “practice” Thrash Metal band called “Mortuary” formed by the vocalist Aditya Mehta aka Count Varathora and the guitarist Prashant Shah, Exhumation came into existence in 2002 CE.
With a businessman Aditya Mehta as vocalist and a graphic designer Prashant Shah as Guitarist, Exhumation is an interesting band and also features ex-Pin Drop Violence member Rohit Pereira equally [in]famous for his “The P-Man Show”.
Exhumation is one of the finest “Brutal Death Metal” to exist in India and on “Consider This”, which is Exhumation’s first full-length album. Aditya Mehta has decided to focus on vocals and has relegated bass duties to Rohit Pereira.
“Consider This” is no different in ferocity from its predecessors like the 2005 EP “Among The Dead” and 2006 EP “For Personal Consumption” featured on the 5-way split compilation album “Defaced & Split” released by Sahil Makhija’s [of Demonic Resurrection] independent metal record label “Demonstealer Records” and his and his Demonic Resurrection band mate Hussain Bandukwala’s event management firm “Barcode Entertainment”.
This album with songs like “Black Plague” reminds me of the bubonic plague that struck Norway in 1349, “Worship Thyself” reminds me of “Cut Your Flesh And Worship Satan” by French Black Metal band “Antaeus”.
Like the last song on “Consider This”, “Alpha Omega”, “The Alpha” i.e. “The Beginning” till “The Omega” i.e. “The End”, “Consider This” is a mixed bag. It neither leaves your happy nor does it leave you sad, the best way to sum “Consider This” would be to use the word “Satisfactory”, the word teachers often use to describe “average” students.
